In an exciting new development SACAQM develops the first version of the master node. This is the principal element of the network of nodes we are building. This node will be able to receive data from other nodes, as well as capture data with their integrated nodes.
The heart of the node is a Nordic Semiconductor nRF9160, which will be responsible for data capture from sensors, data formatting and communications. From the image below captured by Antonio Cervello, this device is able to communicate via LoRa with other nodes and via LTE to communicate with the Internet. GPS location can be taken from the integrated GPS system.
The design has been produced having in mind the low power consumption, as this system will be battery powered. All this data will be collected and analyzed and we can leverage machine learning technology to predict future air quality metrics.
