The cross-sector collaboration on Environmental Health has three key goals and objectives that are meant to ensure it does what it is supposed to do. First, to ensure that the relevant environmental health experts and the affected communities are participating actively in the initiative. Secondly, the initiative places great emphasis on addressing very immediate and urgent environmental health problems that have a direct effect on people's lives. And third, the initiative greatly favors working out practical solutions to problems rather than getting into unfruitful discussions that go around in circles without arriving anywhere. SACAQM, the South African Consortium of Air Quality Monitoring, was recently (11-13th November 2024) in Kempton Park to give a presentation on air quality monitoring using the AI_r system.
