The Horizons Platform programme launched early in 2024, is a collaboration between the University of Leeds and the South African Consortium of Air Quality Monitoring (SACAQM). Building on the success of the Global Crucible programme, which connects early-career researchers, the Horizons Platform fosters interdisciplinary and international partnerships among established researchers to address critical global challenges in inequality, climate, and sustainability.
In a highly competitive process, SACAQM was one of the five approved projects, demonstrating the significant impact of collaborative research in tackling pressing environmental and social issues. This achievement highlights SACAQM’s commitment to advancing understanding and solutions for air quality, health inequalities, and climate resilience in the region.
